Tyson's Eagle Project

What an amazing journey. Thanks to Scoutmaster James and Tyson's self motivation, he has had a wonderful experience in scouting. When it came time to select a project he had many ideas in mind. He made calls of inquiry and felt very strongly about doing something for children. When he toured the University of Utah Medical Center the spirit touched his heart and he knew that would be his project. As we were touring a young girl was passing through the ER waiting area. Both Tyson and Brynlie let out a silent gasp when they saw that the girl had been badly burned on both her arms and legs. They were also touched when they toured the Newborn ICU and it hit them that those valiant spirits couldn't be cuddled by their parents yet. Tyson decided that he should help not one, but three areas in the hospital. His goal is to make 50 ER packs, 12 baby quilts for the NBICU and 12 fleece blankets for the burn unit. He has already surpassed that goal. Our friends and family have been so generous! It has also been fun to host and feed his troop who were more than willing to help out. We are so proud of him and the growth that is taking place in his life. He is just 14 years old and finishing up his project. Yes, we are proud!
